Belki duymuşsunuzdur TopCoder diye bir platform var. Tutorial vs. bir çok özellikleri olsa da, en belirgin özelliği online programlama yarışmalarına katılabilmeyi sağlaması.

Ben arada yarışmalarına katılıyorum zevkli oluyor. 2 hafta da bir Single Round Match (SRM) denilen yarışmalar düzenleniyor.  Programcılık ve algoritma yeteneğini geliştirmek ve kendini sınamak isteyenlere şiddetle tavsiye edilir.

SRM’lere belirtilen zamanda Top Coder Arena’ya giriş yaparak katılabiliyorsunuz. Arena’ya istediğiniz zaman girip alıştırma da yapabiliyorsunuz. Bunun dışında da yarışmalar düzenleniyor.

The modern workplace is structured completely wrong. It’s really optimized for interruptions.

Everyone’s calling meetings all the time, everyone’s screaming people’s names across the thing, there’s phones ringing all the time. People are walking around. It’s all about interruptions.

I’m working 50-60 hours this week. It’s not that there’s 50 or 60 hours worth of work to do, it’s because you don’t work at work anymore. You go to work to get interrupted.

Like before you know it, it’s 4:00 and you’ve got nothing done today.

If someone’s calling my name, or tapping on my shoulder, or knocking on my door, I can’t ignore those things.

Managers are the biggest problem because their whole world is built around interruption. That’s what they do. Management means interrupting. Hey, what’s going on? How’s this going? Let me call a meeting because that’s what I do all day, I call meetings. And so, managers are the real problems here and that’s got to change too.

Jsp sayfalarınızda, sayfayı görüntüleyen kullanıcının browser tipini aşağıdaki şekilde kontrol edebilirsiniz:

Find and Replace Command in Linux

Linux'de dosyalar içinde toplu "find and replace" işlemi yapmak için oldukça kullanışlı bir komut:

You can do a find and replace on files from the Linux shell using the find and sed commands. The first example below shows doing a find and replace only in the current directory while the second example below shows doing a find and replace recursing into subdirectories…

1. Replace “www.trendics.com” with “tools.trendics.com” in all html files in the current directory…

find . -maxdepth 1 -name "*.html" -type f -exec sed -i 's/www.trendics.com/tools.trendics.com/' {} \;

2. Replace “www.trendics.com” with “tools.trendics.com” in all text files and all subdirectories…

find . -name "*.txt" -type f -exec sed -i 's/www.trendics.com/tools.trendics.com/' {} \;

Here is how this works…

• The dot after the find command specifies to start in the current directory
• The -maxdepth 1 specifies to only include the current directory
• The -name "*.txt" switch specifies to only find txt files
• The -type f specifies to only match files
• The -exec xyz {} \; specifies to execute xyz for each file where xyz is a sed command specifying to substitute “tools.trendics.com” for “www.trendics.com”

Browser'da Rss Subscription Butonu Gösterme

Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Safari gibi browserlarda, adres çubuğu yanında artık otomatik olarak "RSS subscription" butonu gösterilmekte.



Eğer siz de sitenizden RSS yayını yapıyorsanız ve bu özelliği etkinleştirmek istiyorsanız, aşağıdaki META-TAG kodunu HTML'inize gömebilirsiniz.

Ancak burada dosya formatı için .rss uzantısı kullanmanız söylense de siz .xml kullanın, .rss uzantılı dosyayı test ettiğimde browserım tanımadı. (hatta .jsp kullanın o da işe yarıyor)

Aslında Internet Explorer için aşağıdaki gibi de bir ifade yazılabilir ama bu bazen problem yaratıyor ve imajın boyutlarını ufacık görebiliyorsunuz. Sanıyorum Imaj width ve height değerleri bazı durumlarda yanlış okunuyor. Bunun için bu değerlerin küçük olup olmadığını da kontrol etmeniz gerekir.

JSP Sayfası İçinde Response Redirect

jsp:include tagi ile içeriğini aldığınız sayfa eğer Response redirect ile başka bir sayfaya yönlendirme içeriyorsa, browserınız o sayfaya yönlendirme yapmak yerine sayfaya aşağıdaki içeriği koyar:

Web Sayfasında Flashların En Üstte Görünmesini Engellemek

Geçenlerde içinde flash bulunan bir sayfa üzerine şeffaf bir layer koymaya çalışırken şöyle bir problem yaşadım. Sayfadaki flash objesi ne yaparsam yapayım layerın üzerine çıkıyordu.

Flashın bulunduğu yere "z-index:-1" vermem de bi işe yaramadı.

Bakınız:

You can't make a flash movie behave in the z-index - doesn't matter whether the movie is in a layer (div) or not it will always show up on top of any layers that overlap the movie.
